Frequently Asked Questions

CD rates can change at any time based on market conditions and Advia's rate policies. Once you open a CD, your rate is locked in for the full term — so even if rates change tomorrow, yours stays the same until your CD reaches the end of its term.

Both give you a guaranteed, fixed rate for the full term. The main difference is flexibility. A Regular CD requires a higher minimum deposit and locks in your opening amount — you can't add to it. An EZ-Saver CD opens with just $50 and lets you add money anytime during the term. Regular CDs typically offer higher rates in exchange for that trade-off.

Yes. Advantage Plus Rewards members earn a rate premium on new Regular CDs — an extra 0.25% APR on top of the base rate for the full term of the CD. EZ-Saver CDs are not eligible for the Advantage Plus rate premium. Learn more about Advantage Plus Rewards >

A share certificate is the credit union term for what banks call a certificate of deposit (CD). Both work the same way: you deposit money for a fixed term in exchange for a guaranteed interest rate. At Advia, our Regular CD and EZ-Saver CD are both share certificates — federally insured and backed by our member-owned credit union.

Our EZ-Saver CD opens with just $50, making it a great option if you're starting small or building your savings over time. Our Regular CD has a higher minimum deposit and is best if you have a lump sum ready to lock in at our best available rates.

When your CD reaches the end of its term, you have a few options. You can withdraw your money and the interest you've earned, roll it into a new CD at the current rate, or move it into a different Advia account. We'll send you a reminder before your CD matures so you have time to decide.
