Thank you for considering this prestigious $5,000 scholarship award to Western Michigan University’s College of Aviation in honor of our former President & CEO, Cheryl A. DeBoer. Cheryl soared high within her credit union career, which spanned over 40 years. To honor her illustrious career and passion for flying, Advia’s Board of Directors are presenting this scholarship program in the amount of $5,000 to be awarded to two (2) deserving recipients.

Application Deadline: Sunday, March 15, 2026 Applicant must have an account with Advia Credit Union in their own name prior to the application deadline. Listing the account of a parent or guardian does not qualify. Applicant must also be an actively enrolled student with WMU’s College of Aviation or accepted to and planning to attend WMU’s College of Aviation within an upcoming semester to begin no later than Fall 2026.

The essay submitted is my original work and all other personal information is true. I understand that the essay and application become the property of Advia Credit Union for whatever use they deem appropriate. Such use by the credit union shall not violate any applicable law. I agree to abide by the decision of the Scholarship Committee. I agree to cooperate with Advia Credit Union in promotional activities related to the scholarship competition, and should I be selected a winner, give them permission to use my name, quote, and photo in promotional activities.


The Advia Foundation reserves the right to modify or eliminate the Scholarship Program at any time without notice. Notwithstanding the foregoing, any award due and payable under the program prior to such modification or elimination shall continue to be payable according to the program’s terms in effect at the time the Advia Foundation made the grant. All entries shall become the property of the Advia Foundation.
