Get ready to ignite your holiday spirit as we celebrate 62 years of the most anticipated event in Downtown Kalamazoo! This annual event marks as the official kickoff to the holiday season, brining together the entire community for a festive celebration like no other.

Thanks to your support, the magic of the Gingerbread Extravaganza lasts longer than a single day. Proceeds from Community Action’s signature family event benefit our poverty-fighting programs in Rock and Walworth counties. With the support of people like you, we are able to help nearly 5,000 people on their pathway out of poverty every year. Supporting the Gingerbread Extravaganza helps to provide job training for unemployed parents, emergency shelter for families and health education for youth among many other services.

Mundelein’s Winter Tree Lighting Festival features live entertainment, Santa, crafts, fireworks, train rides, and holiday cheer Dec. 6.

Join for the annual Winter Tree Lighting Festival scheduled for December 6, 2025, from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM. Working in coordination with Mundelein Community Connection (MCC), the Mundelein Park and Recreation District, and the Village of Mundelein, the festival will be filled with family fun and holiday cheer!

Festivities will include live entertainment, train rides for kids, ice carving and displays, Santa’s Cottage, Kris Kringle market and food vendors, crafts and so much more. The evening will end with a thrilling countdown to Holiday Tree Lighting followed by a dazzling fireworks display. Don’t forget that Santa will be there so mark your calendars!
