On October 16, 2025, credit union members around the world will celebrate International Credit Union Day®, an annual event commemorating the credit union movement’s impact and achievements. International Credit Union Day® is organized by World Council of Credit Unions, the global trade association and development platform for credit unions and other financial cooperatives, as well as numerous national credit union trade associations and federations around the world.
Advia, serving members across Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconsin, is dedicated to delivering real benefits for our community through volunteerism, engagement, and financial support. We provide practical financial education and support in areas such as affordable housing, food security, and reliable transportation.
Some of our highlights from 2025 include:
- 4,600+ ACTION Volunteer Hours: Through our Advancing Community Ties in Our Neighborhoods (ACTION) program, Advians contributed over 4,600 hours of service supporting nonprofits across Michigan, Wisconsin, and Illinois.
- $1 Million in Community Support: Advia proudly committed $1 million in 2025 to support local communities through sponsorships, donations, scholarships, and grants. This includes:
- $296,247 in Advancing Lives Grants to 37 nonprofit organizations
- $38,000 in Youth and Aviation Scholarships awarded to 30 students
- $467,158 in Sponsorships supporting 195 organizations
- 240+ Community Events: From financial education seminars to local festivals and nonprofit fundraisers, Advia remained actively engaged in over 240 events throughout the year, strengthening community ties and promoting financial wellness.
- Nearly 15,000 New Members: In 2025, nearly 15,000 individuals and businesses joined the Advia family, gaining access to better rates, lower fees, and innovative financial solutions designed to save time and money.
Since 1948, International Credit Union Day® has been celebrated annually on the third Thursday of October. Each year, the international event affords the opportunity to remember credit unions’ proud history and promote awareness of and support for the credit union and financial cooperative difference.
