Changing Market Conditions and the Impact on Financial Institutions

04/2025

In times of market ups and downs, it’s understandable that members can be unsure about their savings, especially when it comes to safety and soundness. Both the NCUA and FDIC are committed to protecting member deposits, ensuring financial security and stability.

Overall Economic Conditions and Advia’s Sound Financial Position

Despite recent market changes, Advia and other financial institutions remain strong and stable. While new trade policies and tariffs have impacted global trade, major indexes like the Dow Jones and S&P 500 are comfortable to the influxes and natural part of market cycle fluctuations. These adjustments don't reflect the stability of financial institutions.

Every year, Advia’s leadership team refreshes our strategic initiatives to handle these economic changes. Our careful management practices keep us safe and strong. We encourage our members to focus on long-term goals and feel confident in our robust financial position, detailed in our Annual Report.

Indicators of Safety and Soundness

Feeling confident with your financial institution is essential in changing markets. Here are some key indicators of our strong position:

  • Asset Size: Advia Credit Union is in the Top 150 credit unions nationally in terms of asset size.
  • Net Worth: Our Regulatory Net Worth (excess savings) is nearly 10% of our total assets, well above the 7% threshold for being “well capitalized” by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).
  • Fair Loan Practices: We adhere to fair and quality loan underwriting standards, protecting the individual borrowers and our overall membership from undue losses.
  • NCUA Deposits: Your deposits are safe with the NCUA, which has been protecting credit union members' deposits since 1970. The NCUA insures deposits up to $250,000 per member, per credit union.
